I'm still editing my photos from last Thursday.
Here is another view of the Chavannette Falls.
Tomorrow morning, I plan to go to another place also known for its waterfall.

Nice photo but why are you shooting at f/16 and iso50 for 1/10 of a second?

Good question TMG1961 TMG1961 !
What I tried to do with this composition was to have a great depth of field. I wanted the trunk in the foreground to be as sharp as possible. So I used an f/16.0 aperture. The ISO of 50 is to have a low sensitivity to be able to make a long enough exposure to capture the movement of the waterfall. Hence the 1/10th of a second shutter speed, slow enough for that. The problem was also to have a very dark foreground and a very bright background, the cliff.
I also tried with ISO 50, f/11.0 and 1/4 s, but it gives a bad result.

Thank you for explaining why you took these settings.

Very nice framing and nice scene. It would be quite better if the front darker parts were a bit more brighter.
Excellent though!

Thanks panos_adgr panos_adgr.
I tried to get the foreground brighter, but the result seemed a bit too artificial, too HDR messed up.

For me the major problem is the dappled sunlight causing hot spots on the waterfall and on the crags behind. Instead of looking at the lovely areas of texture in the falls my eyes are drawn to the sunlight. I have spent a lot of time photographing waterfalls and I seldom photograph them when the sun is shining. As you have found if you shoot to try and stop the highlights from burning out then lots of the shadows are very dark and when you try and brighten them they just look odd. I hope that this helps.
