Opinion wanted Hockney on Sea

I like this image for its simplicity and almost cartoon like blocks of colour, although they all subtly change. Taken in harsh sunlight at lunchtime in N W France so no golden hour. I have emphasised in pp the foreground "S" curve produced by breaking surf leading the eye into the beautifully coloured water and the offshore island and boat. Normally I wouldn't expect much from light like this but mid day light can work with seascapes as it penetrates deeper allowing the underlying colours to show through.
