A short holiday in Wales allowed me to visit these falls. The water level was quite low and I was standing in the middle of the stream wearing Wellingtons, this is my usual footwear when I go waterfall hunting. When the water levels are low I tend to shoot longer shutter speeds and this is a 5s exposure. I have merged 2 files to gather here, the 5s and a 1/100s not to put texture in the water as I liked the look of the 5s exposure but to get a sharp image of the foliage that was blowing in the breeze. Feel free to comment or ask any questions about how I photograph waterfalls. Ken _DSC9913-1 1200 wide.jpg

It's a beautiful picture!
The composition, the light, the colours, the waterfall... Everything is perfect, bravo!

Another wonderful image ken, I like the water, its movement and it's white colour ( I see a lot of waterfall images where the water is blue :) )
The detail in the foliage is great, as is the contrast, and the light on the rock walls really draws me in and focuses my attention on the waterfall.
Very nicely done.

Andy, the simple way to get non coloured white water is to click the white balance eye dropper on the water. This adjusts the white colour balance of the entire image. A slightly better way is to note the colour shifts when you do this eg +200 in col temp and +4 in tint. Go back to the original colour temp, apply a mask to the water and dial in the required +200 +4. I find that I usually need slightly more when I do it this way. I hope that this helps. I used to struggle with colour shifts in white water in the shade as they come out blue but having discovered this way of handling them I can now go back and revisit older files and re-process them. I keep my RAW files and note some people on this site do not. Ken

Thanks Ken, good tips, I really have no issues with getting white water using white balance or other techniques, I mentioned the blue colour as I see many images online with blue waterfalls. :)
Keep the tips and comments coming though, as I am sure it helps many people here, and definitely with me included.

Andy I am still trying to get to know each members' strengths and don't mean to imply that everyone needs my "clues". Ken
