A short walk in the forest this morning allowed me to bring back an icy souvenir. The vegetation with all those ice needles shining in the sun was beautiful.

I love the sharp fingers of water crystals.

Yes, these ice needles were very sharp and pointed. The trees had turned into ephemeral cacti.

Here is another photo of this magical morning.

The weather forecast calls for freezing fog in the region tomorrow morning... I'm looking forward to going back!

Can't recall ever seeing something like that before here, I would love to see it. I have captured a rare sight when we lived in Wales. The temperature was -18C. Now that here in the mid to south of the UK is one of the coldest weathers recorded. A few friends I have in Canada say its normal there, as the air sparkles in front of you. Its where the water particles in the air simply turn to ice. I caught this above the bull rushes. We had 3 acres surrounding the property.

The other time I caught something unusual was in Lincolnshire, taken with my first simple digital camera. God it was a real quick frost that froze any water as it shows here. The wind was also dragging the water droplets.

The picture with the bull rushes is absolutely beautiful! And I also love the picture with the red berries where you can see the direction of the wind through the ice. Actually, it is not very cold in my area. Temperatures for tomorrow are expected to be between 1 and 9 degrees Celsius.

I was amazed at seeing the sparkling air over the bull rushes. The bull rushes were planted over the septic tank! So I guess even shit can sparkle :poop: :ROFLMAO: We have a warmer front here, which is why I guess we have had severe fog today, which has taken the temperature down a notch or two! So didn't get out on my bike, which is what I want to do, just to give it a run.
