In A Dream / Nikon Calendar 2023
'In A Dream' photo was taken in 19/08/2020. I was in Chalkidiki on the north of Greece for a summer holiday trip in Sani Resort Beach. I swom and later in the afternoon I drove in a seaside town called Nea Fokea. It was that August period when the weather has a small autumn break with rain and storm. It happens every summer ussualy the mid 10 days of the month.
I stopped on the Edge of a dock and watched at the sky. The sun was low and the light was painting the clouds with beautiful orange red and violet tones. In front of me where some kids swimming from the dock I was standing to the dock of the photo. It was a bit of a challenge as I started setting my tripod and camera to do some long exposures. Fortunately at the time of photo Shooting the kids had settle on a side and I took a set of 9 long exposures.
It is one of my most beloved photos and it was sent in the Nikon Photo Competition 2020-2021 with 9 more photos.
I wasn't qualified in the wiiner list but this photo was chosen with 12 more photos from around the world by the jury to be published in Nikon's Photo Calendar 2023. I knew quite a few months ago but last week I received from Nikon Tokyo a set of 10 printed calendars as a gift.
The joy is great and this is my Second publication in the Nikon Photo Calendar. The first was in the previous competition of 2018-2019 and was published in 2020 Nikon Calendar.
It is a great self reward and self recognition of the personal photographic view effort and work.
