Thought I would share this image I took in China on our honeymoon in 1996. This is an amazing site, that no documentary can give you, if you have never stood on it. If you can look at the angle of descent the wall takes, it's extremely steep! You are almost a mountain climber getting to the top and coming down! Some steps themselves were as high as my knees! The great wall is not for the faint-hearted.
I have been trying to get a better image using PS and topaz add-ons. Hasn't worked as well as I had hoped, but it shows the mountain's steepness.
