Gear advice Should I sell my old 7D M2 and buy R6 M2?

Last night finally decided to list my old 7D M2 for sale. Feeling very attached to the camera and thinking of cancelling it. But I really want to upgrade to R6 M2 to go mirror less. Would you say it’s good decision to sell it? Or should I keep it ?

Hello dear friend Jack! It's been a while.
I'm also like you. I get to feel attached as the time goes by using my gear.
The D7 MII is a great camera but the R6 II is a huge step forward! The fact that you move from an APSC sensor to FF is a huge benefit. Regardless of many youtubers or other people, trying to convince that there are no huge differences between the 2 sensor sizes reality is different.
You will have huge 'headroom' in you FF files to work on. Also the processor of the R6 MII is more advanced.

I would urge you to proceed and I very confident that you will be feeling very happy you did so as soon as you will take your first nice photos.

Hello panos_adgr panos_adgr , glad that you have found time to pop around on forum. Yes, it’s been a while since we have spoken here.

Yes, I’m thinking selling my 7DM2 , it’s 10 years old now, still takes images, but I want to move to FF mirrorless camera. Also I’m interested in video as I do YouTube. Hence why I want to get R6 M2.

I don’t really listen to all YouTubers, as sometime they don’t know what they are talking about or they just promote products.

I’m thinking of using my EF lenses with R6 M2, don’t plan to sell my Ef lenses at the moment. But in the future maybe ill add RF lenses, these are really expensive compared to EF lenses.

Your think quite logicaly.
Yes, keep your glass and go for the R6.
And as you said you van add lenses in the future.

Would you say to keep EF lenses and just add RF lenses or sell and invest in new lenses ?

I was thinking about the performance of the EF lenses attached on RF camera body. If they will perform as good as RF lenses.

Whatever the performance of new RF lenses is, it is good start with your EF lenses. You can upgrade in the future (if it is necessary) and make a smoother transition concerning money poured in the new system.
It took me about 3-4 years to completely transition from APSC to Full Frame System.

I don’t think I will sell my EF lenses, they are in mint condition and paid full brand new price. Selling for peanuts I will loose more money than I made.

I am thinking the same, to get rf glass in the future, also want to upgrade my drone maybe next year. 😂.

Have you sold your old lenses to upgrade to full frame ? Or you kept them once and just added new full frame lenses ?
