I took this photo on 15 February 2023. I think this little forest is called "Le Bois de la Dame", perhaps in reference to the Virgin Mary or, who knows, to a local fairy...

Yes, it’s a small beech tree. I like them because they keep their dead leaves in winter and bring a colourful touch when the forest is quite dull.
