The foreground does look a bit busy Nasty Snapper, but sometimes we just have to take what we can get. Without crawling through the undergrowth and into the water you may not be able to get that perfect shot.

I agree with Andy Smith about the first plan. Otherwise, I like the atmosphere of this landscape. I would have removed the small spots of dust or insects (?) that you can see in the sky.

I just downloaded gimp photo editing software yesterday, to get that nat out. I have zero editing experience. Good thing there's youtube for tutorials.

That's the trouble with wild areas. There's so much growth that it looks, as you say, busy. There's plenty of potential in that area though. My suggestion would be to narrow down to a smaller area, maybe as a square to isolate certain parts like the reflection.

I would agree that the foreground does come across as busy but my eye did fall to the tree and the reflection. So if that was your intention, then you were sucessful
