Took these a few years ago now, not long after we came to Lincolnshire. There is a river and a canal that runs through the city. Obviously taken in warmer months!

Nice shots lightmuncher, I haven't been to Lincoln for over 30 years but these bring back some nice memories of my youth.
My favourite is the B&W shot, just for the action and story it is telling.
The first sot is not really telling me anything as it seems to have no primary subject to focus on, and my eyes seem to keep wandering all over the image a little lost for something to focus on really.
Maybe a closer angle of the narrowboat, using that as the main subject would have worked better, or use one of the railings as a foreground element to lead you into the image and showcase the architectural statue design.
The second image is better in my opinion, but I find the two spotlights distracting. Maybe getting closer to the narrow boat would have been more dramatic, to cut down on the 'busy' background a bit

Thanks for the critique. I always appreciate it constructive criticism. And when relooking at the images through your eyes I get where I can improve things. Need to look at the other images to see if I have what you made clear on. Which in turn makes me reassess those images I put to one side. So a big thanks

Maybe your first shot could be cropped or focused more on the wacky sculpture.
