Motionless Silo

This is an 'old' work of mine. It is from my archive of the park 'Polichoros Lipasmaton'.
It is a park which is transformed to a beautiful space next to the sea. It is on the limit of west suburban of Attica (Greece) and a few minutes from my home.
I have been photographing this place for about 4 years. It offers unique scenes and moments throughout the Seasons. I've written about this place many times.

In this photo I have photographed the old abandoned Silo of the Fertiliser Plant. It was during wither time. The title is inspired by the state of the building. It stands with the signs of abandonment carved in its 'body'. Days, nights, seasons and time goes by constantly but it stands silent and motionless in its place. Like a guard of the moments passed.

The cloudy sky serve as a smooth negative space and the motion of the clouds is symbolising the constant of time in contrast with the still building. The angle of the photo was chosen to enhance the size and strong 'emotional' presence of the standing building. The angled perspective with the lines driving in the centre drive the eye in the middle of the frame.
