Located in Roi Et province Thailand.
Roi Et translates as 101 in English and the temple uses the number 101 in many dimensions, being 101m tall, 101m in diameter and built on 101 Rai (Thai land measurement unit which 1x Rai equals 0.4 acre)
Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol translates to The Great, Victorious and Auspicious Pagoda.
Although still under construction, this is a highly revered temple as it actually contains relics of the Buddha at the very top of the pagoda and it is one of the main learning centres for buddhist monks in the region.
The top of the pagoda is decorated with 60kg of pure gold.
A truly amazing place to visit.
Canon 5D Mk III, EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II @24mm.
