Thanks Andy Smith . The reason why is that, is because I took the picture with 70-200 on a crop camera. Was a bit lazy to change the lens, but sometimes zoom lenses can get unique results .Nice shot Jack, although I find myself wishing I could see the base of the trees in the foreground. For me, they seem abruptly cut off, maybe a slightly wider angle would have done it.
You should plan a trip panos_adgr . Worth visiting .
Fully agree that zoom lenses have a place in the landscape arena and the trees do add a nice border but I think as they are they kind of detract from the image slightly and hide the green hill somewhat. maybe take a few steps backwards if possible next time or walk in from of them and find a different foreground element for interest. Thanks Andy Smith . I have some friends who 've been there and they 've told me it's great!
I think the only option was to zoom in a bit and avoid trees, but the Quality of the photo would be affected badly.Fully agree that zoom lenses have a place in the landscape arena and the trees do add a nice border but I think as they are they kind of detract from the image slightly and hide the green hill somewhat. maybe take a few steps backwards if possible next time or walk in from of them and find a different foreground element for interest.
I love clouds, misty weather, and dramatic scenery. I thing winter would b e perfect. I'm jealous sometimes of some youtube photographers who travel and capture some amazing fogy / misty landscapes. But to tell the truth I see them struggle in the rain and It mustn't be the easiest thing to tolerate.I would recommend you to visit Scotland during the summer, you’ll see more sun than clouds
You have travelling using own car, that's should be fine. If you exploring the mountains on foot, then you might have some problems 😅I love clouds, misty weather, and dramatic scenery. Beautiful mountain scene, I like the clouds and atmosphere, looks pretty cold. I like the different layers (foreground, mid and background). A funny thing about lens in landscape is that before I used to consider wider lenses more suitable for landscape but now I prefer more and more something with a bit more reach like the 70-200 your'e using here. I use panoramas if I need to capture more of the scene. You really have to be in and amongst the scene for wides to work well in landscape I think.
You are definitely right! I'm not in the best shape the last couple of years...😅You have travelling using own car, that's should be fine. If you exploring the mountains on foot, then you might have some problems 😅
Great shot, I am hoping to take a week long trip to the North Coast 500 Route, good jobA picture from my last trip in Scotland

Agree with Andy. The mountain is stunning.Nice shot Jack, although I find myself wishing I could see the base of the trees in the foreground. For me, they seem abruptly cut off, maybe a slightly wider angle would have done it.
Thanks.Great shot, I am hoping to take a week long trip to the North Coast 500 Route, good job
Thanks Morexp57 , to be honest this was a quick photo as I was driving I noticed the spot and pulled over.A bit late to answer... But I hadn't seen this image before. Nice icy atmosphere and I really like the snowy peak behind the trees.
I know this feeling well. How many times have I stopped driving to take a picture... And above all, how many times have I said to myself " Damn! Why don't I have my camera!"Thanks Morexp57 , to be honest this was a quick photo as I was driving I noticed the spot and pulled over.
