I actually had time to get my bike out and speed a few miles to take pics of an old abbey ruin a few miles down the road from us. Been past it hundreds of times, but as the day was clear at 3.30pm, and I decided to get the Triumph Tiger out and take pics of the ruin I never stop at. My hope was that the sunset would be like the one the day before. And that sadly didn't happen. The light this time of year is beautiful anyway, and the pictures I took before the sunset weren't too great, and the sunset sucked! ☹️ As I took the time to get out there and take pics, I thought I would share them anyway. The abbey ruins are not spectacular, but its part of the history we have in UK, when King Henry decided to tear them down, whilst bedding all his wives throughout his reign. Don't you love compressing history into a few words 😂

I used to love visiting that old ruin when I lived in the UK, as it wasn't too far from my home neither. Hasn't changed much in the 40 years since I was last there except the tree has changed slightly.
I love the images and especially the last one with the silhouette of the tree in the wonderful sunset.
quite like the bike also :)

I had another thought process as today went on. I had your statement in my head all that time. Its to do with expectations. I know what picture I wanted, and with the sunset flop, it didn't meet my expectations. I took loads of HRD 3 images at different stops. None of them really worked, and in the end the editing did more good than the meeting of 3 different exposed images. I have found this before.
