Thanks Jack. I do have a zoom but I like the conflicting lines in the foreground, the church in the distance is not the cathedral, I think it is St Michael's (Winchester is full of churches!), this is one of my regular vantage points and I will be taking more shots from there as time goes on.If you had a zoom lens, you could zoom at the cathedral and take the photo. The difference would be huge. But I like the sunset here
Hi ruedas, the image is from my perspective is quite messy, as eyes go everywhere. Always take several images from different angles, which I am guessing you have done anyway. I would rethink this image, and see if any of the others you took, bring the church into near foreground and leads to the cathedral. Also has too much noise and contrast is very flat. Although I know, contrast from one computer/monitor/operating system can play havoc with contrasts and sharpness. Is there anyway of removing the shrub/trees from the image and moving to the right. The other factor is the dynamic range. Most people like to take high dynamic range images, but that was created out of the necessity to ensure shadow and light can be equalised. And by reducing the lower range it made the image more like a piece of art work. Then adapted to in editing to enhance. Have you any filters like Franz or topaz softwares? I love both, as I get different results from both. Favourite though are the topaz AI filters. Thanks Jack. Hey no problem. I will be gentle with you next time. I gave too much information, I see that now. Properly slappedI really have no idea about church names (nor interest), they are nice buildings but I have no concern for what goes on them.
I am glad your eyes go everywhere.
I like the noise.
I feel that the image is close to what I saw.
I have no experience with filters, not sure if it is what I am aiming for.
Still learning about processing digital and what I can do with the tools available.
Cheers.
There are no slaps, only candour (I know it is unfashionable but I know no other way of expressing myself). I am not afraid to ask if I find myself baffled by anything. Please don't be offended I am gruff and crusty.Hey no problem. I will be gentle with you next time. I gave too much information, I see that now. Properly slapped
As an addon here, we can help you understand all those things.
