They are not free, but I use DxO PhotoLab since Lightroom began to ask for a monthly fee.
Soon, all editing softwares will start to ask for monthly subscription.

They are not free, but I use DxO PhotoLab since Lightroom began to ask for a monthly fee.
I like the non subscription idea of owning the software but as I tend to upgrade every year then I guess its no less expensive just that you can walk away at anytime and still have your editing kit.

I'm doing the same thing and I had the same thought!
Another advantage is that you don't have to do it every year; if you want to upgrade every two or three years, you're free to do so.
