Yes, I agree with you. I also prefer the brighter version. What I like about the darker version is the light at the top left, which illuminates the snow in a very soft way with bluish tones. And also the small light in the middle of the mountain range, which is visible as in reality. I don't know what this light is... To highlight the top of mountain, you could increase whiteness, highlighting, and a bit of exposure, and drop down the black .
