I do it quite often!
I use 3 apps.
  • raw2dng
  • Lightroom mobile
  • Snapseed
I import my photos from my cameras via their built in wifi to my smartphone.
I import my RAW files first and then I convert to dng with the app raw2dng. The reason I do this is because I'm using the free version of adobe lightroom which supports only dng image processing. You have to have a subscription to unlock native camera (brand) raw file processing.
I then process my photos with lightroom and I export them as jpgs.
If I want to add frames or do some perspective adjustments I use snapseed.

I process photos in my smartphone when I'm on a trip and I have no access to my pc.

Thanks for your comment panos_adgr panos_adgr . That’s a long process to edit images on your phone.

What phone are you using? Must be something powerful in order to edit images.

I have heard of snapseed but never tried. Need to check it.

I always edit my images on my laptop. I find the process quicker and the photo on bigger screen looks better.

I use a Xiaomi 12T and It's very efficient even for the D850s files. (45mp)

Snapseed is very good, but I prefer Lightroom.
I do processing in my phone mostly to see how will a photo be in post, when I'm on a photo trip.
I do not have a personal laptop. I have only my desktop pc and a laptop for my work.

I’ve just checked, seems alright phone. I guess you’ll need lots of room to import your photos from the camera to the phone.

Would you prefer personal laptop for editing over the phone ?

I'm ok with my phone.
I prefer my PC for proper post processing. If I would go for a laptop I would prefer a macbook mostly for the screen quality.

Agree, nothing can replace a PC or good laptop for editing.

I did get a MacBook Pro 2 years ago. Cost me really a lot. But it’s worth every penny. I can easily edit 4k/5k videos. On my windows laptop I was really struggling.

Having a good laptop is really important as a photographer, artist , or videographer.

Are MacBooks expensive in your country ?

Macbooks are the best way to go if you want portability in photography post processing.
As for the price yes they are expensive but there are many second hand choices or New laptops of old making (3-4 years old) with great prices.
But as I say in many discussions, things are not that expensive... the salaries have remained low and haven't followed the inflation. So the buying ability of consumers has reduced. Well that is the half truth. The companies prefer to sell few and expensive premium (so called) products with high margin. And consumer laptops are very mediocre in many things. Especially screens.

What will be the price of a brand new MacBook Pro Max 32GB Ram 1TB SSd in your country?

Here in UK the buying power is decreased. You can’t buy same with with same money that you could do years ago.

And the electronics here are expensive because of taxes

A MacBook Pro Max 32GB Ram 1TB SSd is 3.950€ here, brand new.
Generally the prices are about the EU average. Sometimes a bit cheaper.

No it isn't Pound is more expensive than Euro. If you make the conversion it is the same price. 1 pound is 1.20 euro. If you make the conversion you bought is 3840euros.

I know the price for pound has dropped too. Same as buying power. But yes, seems pretty much the same. I am expected the machine to last me at least10 years :D.
