MS Mediterranean Sky (MS City of York)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_City_of_York

30' minutes drive from my home and away from the city I live is a town calls Elefsina / Eleusis. Passing the town of Elefsina and driving through an old country road lies next to the coastline a half sunken ship. The MS City of York was built in the year of 1953, 7 decades ago this ship started to sail the seas. It used to sail from London to Africa and back. It was sold to a Greek naval company in 1971 and was renamed to MS Mediterranean Sky after it was renovated and converted to sea liner. It made its last journey in 1996 and since then it was being laid up in Eleusis Bay. It capsized in 2002 after it was towed in the swallow waters near the coastline, where it half sunked and remained there until this day. From 2021 it is visible also on Google Earth.

It is one of the most popular sites for photographers and it is photographed every year all the time. It is also a place where many photographic workshops take place. Access is relatively easy. But it needs caution due to terrain form.
I have visited this location many times and a these are photos from my most recent visit 1 day ago from the moment this post is made.

As usual, long exposures work wonders here!
I really like the sky with its clouds seeming to fly over the wreck at high speed. And the colours are magnificent!

Thank you very very much for your kind words Morexp57 Morexp57 !

Long exposure is my favorite style or technique in photography!
The way that subjects are seperatated from the environment because of motion blur gives a unique feelings and perspective of things.

Thank you a again!
And many thanks to dear Jack Jack for featuring my photo on the forum home page!!!

Wonderful image again panos_adgr, I do like this subject and the fact that you revisit often, providing different images every time.
Thats great.
Thank you very much my friend Andy Smith Andy Smith !
There are quite a few places that I visit quite often and I've realised that as much as you study a place / subject you can discover better perspectives and create wonderful images.

There some cases though that I've visited a place once and captured a photo so nice that as many times that I have revisited the place and tried a better shot it didn't came up.
I took a photo of a landscape with a steeple as a subject at the foreground, on a castle. Since then I have visited this place many times and never managed to take a better shot. I was then 14 or 15 years old and I had a Minolta X300S and a Soviet Mir-10A/M 28 mm f/3.5 mounted with an adaptor. I used Fuji Sensia 100 slide film. Anyways as you said I believe in revisiting a place / subject.

So beautiful photo panos_adgr panos_adgr . A bit of late reply. Such catastrophe turned to show that it ce be beautiful if taken properly.

If I was there, I would probably try to fly the drone above. That will be interesting.

Also, I like that you do take images in the same location, same subject but from different angles. Gives opportunity to view the location properly.

Thank you very much dear friend!

There are times when I revisit some places that are so different because of the the weather, sun locations vs season and time of the day, that I get completely different results like.

If I like a location I do revisit it at different times. I also study it in my mind on how it might look like with different sun position / time of the day or weather conditions.

You should get yourself a mini drone panos_adgr panos_adgr . Then the entire photography world will change. Example, you have in your mind a composition, but because you might not be able to achieve it with a camera, is likely to achieve it with a drone.

Yes you are right! Plus that the drone can open new horizons composition wise.

Yes, you also need a bit of practice before sending it away. But yes, sometimes, I'm lazy to take my camera, and I'm just sending away the drone to take the photo šŸ˜…šŸ˜€

Yes you are right. It sure needs a lot of practice before trying to use it.
I sometimes look and search for a drone that it would suit me but i need to do a lot of investigation. What is no1 priority is camera and sensor but above all the ability to shoot RAW. And I'm having a difficulty in spotting one that would be ok for me.

From my knowledge all DJI drones are good, and they all shoot in raw. You don't need expensive one, you can buy second hand one for less than Ā£250.

I was thinking the DJI Mini 3 Pro or if I can afford a more the Mavic 3. It also looks very interesting the DJI Avata.

Good morning Panos, yes that would be great! I am not technically minded when it comes to cameras, but I am learning slowly! I assume your camera is able to be programed to take your shots with a 2 second time gap between each one? I only have a bridge camera and to get the effect that you produce I can only set a long exposure max 60 seconds. Then I use lightroom and photoshop to tweak the photos to try and get the water surface like yours! They are getting better but not upto your standard. I have tried taking 9 photos and stacking them in photoshop, but the end result just looks like they photos before I stacked them. I do stack my drone photos all the time and I am happy with them. Seeing your work flow would be great, thank you. Have a great day!
