The Sony a6000 has arrived. It is as new, only thing is that i didn't read correct was the number of clicks , it had 1367 instead of 367, i missed the 1 in the front. The only thing missing was the eyecup, but i still had one from my previous a6400 and it fits perfect. Came with 2 batteries, a 16GB card (was in the camera) and a external battery charger. And that all for €279

You got good deal to be honest. Have you checked the lifespan of shutter?

I have no idea what Sony gives as lifespan for the a6000 shutter. My a7rii has a life span of 500000 clicks. I think the a6000 is 150 or 200000 clicks but not sure about that. But i don't think it will be a problem.

Then you sorted. Nothing to worry about. Just enjoy taking pictures and learning the camera.

Yesterday i bought the Sony 28-60 f/4-5.6 lens which should be arriving this afternoon. Bought it for my Sony a7rii, but can also be used on the Sony a6000. It might not be the best lens around but reviews were good and it was on offer for €299, which is still €200 cheaper then a used Sony 24-70 f/4 or €250-300 cheaper then a used Tamron 28-75.

I am going to send the lens back. The lens is having some problems with the corners, the center is good but the corners vary too much. The lower corners are acceptable but the top corners are very bad. It is a big difference between upper and lower corners, too much to ignore it. So the lens is going back.

That must be annoying for you TMG1961, but better you have a lens you are happy with rather than trying to work with one that has flaws.

Yes, i did read and viewed reviews and they were all positive about the lens. But sadly the copy i had was not that good, it happens, now only need to wait till i get my money back.

Finally bought another lens after the Sony 28-60 has been returned. Bought the Sony 24-70 f/4 in a as good as new condition. It is a lens with only Seizz on front ring instead of Carl Seizz, they seem to have fewer image quality problems. Price was not too bad, only €445 and with free shipping and 12 months warranty. Should be arriving tomorrow and then will test it to see if it is good enough.

Got the lens, did a quick test for sharpness and to see if it was decentered. Sharpness is ok, the corners are only bad at 24mm and then more left then right. But only did a quick test on f/4. Will do some more testing tomorrow at f/5.6, f/8 and f/11.

The lens itself looks like new, absolutely no marks on it at all. So far all looks good, i knew that this lens was the weakest at 24mm so that is no problem.

Sounds good TMG1961, like you said 24mm @ f/4 will be the weakest so it should only get better.

By the way, when I saw he images, I thought that’s England :D.

Anyway, do you want these images edited or you have tested the lens ?
It is just the lens test. Shows the difference between left and right corners. The left are much softer, i am not sure if i am going to keep the lens.

I will repeat the test today to make sure it maybe wasn't an error on my side. I exported the raw files as jpegs and added text for what corner they are. Did not do anything else to them. I uploaded them to my drive and here is the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Y2UzE6ys8qKgw2QkGuKYMmYzVO-P65F-?usp=sharing
The left side does seem a little softer TMG1961, but to be honest for me it's not a drama as the difference is small to my eyes. I would be happy with this really as I don't think it is noticeable, especially in the main center image which looks good.

Also i have to remind myself that these are full size images, if you resize them the softness is less visible. Also i have to keep in mind that maybe the manual focusing on my part was not as accurate as it should be. And new lens also means learn to shoot with it, every lens behaves different.

I keep it, for the prize i paid it is a good lens and returning it would mean another trip into town and having to pay for shipment. And a replacement lens might even be worse.

Do you use prime or zoom lenses or maybe both? And why do you use one or the other?

At the moment is have 2 prime lenses, the Laowa 100mm f/2.8 macro lens and the Samyang 35mm f/1.8 AF.
My 2 current zoom lenses are the kit lenses i still have from my previous a6400, the 16-50 and the 55-210.
I too have a mix. RF 100-500, RF100mm macro, and RF50mm. I’m saving up for a good wide angle so I can do some landscape. I’ve given up on Astro, as I can’t see spending 2K+ on a lens that won’t get used often enough to justify the cost.
