Towers of Aï and Mayen (Tours d'Aï et de Mayen).

I didn't need to travel long to take this picture, since I took it last night around 5:45 pm from my balcony with my Nikkor 18 - 300mm... A bit lazy, I know! But I couldn't resist when I saw the view.

These mountains are about 32 km from my balcony in a direct line.

Which 18-300 do you have, the F5.6 or the lighter F6.3?

I have the same one. What is your opinion of the lens? I like it a lot, used it even for macro with good result

Yes, I also like it a lot. I hardly ever change my lens. And I also do macro with it.
I don't have the experience with the F5.6 which is supposed to be better.

Naghlo Dam Reservoir, Afghanistan.
My first ever trip to Afghanistan back in 2012 and a ride through the mountain passes from Kabul to Jalalabad. This was taken on the Nangarhar Highway at Naghlo, using my old crop sensor Nikon D7000 and Nikkor DX 18-200mm, f/3.5-5.6 GII.

Towers of Aï and Mayen

I have always loved these two towers.

I'll try to post a picture (almost) every day taken from my neighborhood and sometimes even from my balcony, even if in a few weeks there will be too many leaves on the trees. But, not far from my house, there is a place where I can take pictures from.

This picture was taken from my balcony yesterday, February 22, 2022.

A great shot in my opinion, showing some lovely action and movement in the clouds. Very nice

I love Föhn weather moods. Always a little dramatic!

Sunburst Peaks with Mt Assiniboine standing out in the background. Taken at 16 mm, f 8, and 1/160 sec shutter speed on my Nikon
I really like this picture. The contrast between the rather cool tones of the lake and the Sunburst Peaks and the slightly warmer tones of the larches works well. I wish the trees were even more orange for a higher contrast.
Mount Assiniboine is the twin of Mount Matterhorn!

Mount Matterhorn or Cervin in french:
